Message the reduced inertia from the lighter pulley is a very small fraction of the total inertia seen by the engine (which indludes the car, drivetrain, accessories, etc), the gain from a lighter pulley is probably much less than 1% at the higher gears. Underdriving provides the main gain, as it effectively reduces the inertia of the entire accessory system as seen by the engine.
